Slowly but surely, Merriweather Post Pavilion is creeping into the speakers of eager Animal Collective fans across the world. Although the highly-anticipated and extremely hyped—yes, even by yours truly—album does not see a formal released until January 20th, listeners soon may have the entire album by the end of the week. (Assuming things look up.)

Tonight, a French podcast leaked Merriweather’s final track, “Brother Sport,” an undeniably catchy calypso-esque dance jam famous from live bootlegs, onto the internet. Although the final seconds of the song are muddled by the eager ramblings from the French host, the song’s quality is surprisingly crisp and pounding. (Besides, the adorable French pronunciation of the track name—”Brooozah Spor!”—is a hilarious side note to the smile-inducing nature of “Brother Sport.”)

Listen with high-quality headphones, if at all possible, to get the full effect of what may very well be one of the best songs of 2009.
